Our classes are designed around teaching techniques. Most are two to three hours. Everything you need is provided, unless otherwise noted in the class description.
We have a prerequisite of an ‘Introduction to’ class or equivalent. Other studios might use a different name. This class is where you will learn the basics of the medium. For the Fused Glass medium, we teach about safety with glass; the way to properly break glass with standard glass tools; the difference in firing schedules; various types of glass you can experience; and you get to make two items in 2 hours. The pieces will be ready in approximately 1 week and we send you a text message when they are ready to be picked up.
In the Stained Glass medium, we teach about safety with glass; the way to properly break glass with standard glass tools; how to use the grinder to get a better edge on your pieces; foiling, and soldering your pieces together. This is a 3 hour class.
We have a variety of classes, primarily Fused Glass as that has been the medium of choice in our area. The schedule of classes and registration is all done on line and is part of our website. Then you come into the studio for the classes. Everything you need is included, unless you want to wear a mask or gloves, please bring your own. Closed-toed shoes is highly recommended for all classes.
